Strange that our mayor hasn't tweeted for 48 hours, but to be fair I probably would have criticized anything he HAD tweeted, so maybe it's a smart move

2.6.20 15:12 Did @Twitter remove timestamp tooltips (hover over relative time to get absolute time) from their web interface? Gotta love when a company takes something that "just works" and completely kills it unannounced

RT @MplsWard3: Bob Kroll’s letter yesterday to the Minneapolis Police Federation membership showed us what rank-and-file officers voted for in their leadership, and it is yet another sign that the department is irredeemably beyond reform.

RT @MrFesser: What steps are being taken to identify officers and soldiers who shot and arrested journalists and people in their own homes? Will those people be relieved of duty for any amount of time? Face any consequences? What will those be? When, EXACTLY, can we expect to see them?
31.5.20 13:03
RT @MrFesser: I want to hear something concrete from @GovTimWalz today about how police misconduct last night is going to be addressed. Not "I'm sorry", or "I take responsibility", or (god help us) "We're going to send in more troops". Enough platitudes and escalation of force. CONSEQUENCES.

30.5.20 17:42 Gotta say SOMETHING.

I took a drive to Roseville and Maplewood to do a really unimportant Amazon return and grab some supplies. I saw some national guard vehicles coming the other way on 280, but only a few. On my way back I diverted to Uptown to help move some friends to safer spaces. We took Hennepin down past Lake and marveled at the plywood, but were relieved to see that everything had also been cleaned up by so many good neighbours. Just so I could see it for myself, I took the slow way home from Uptown and went back up Lyndale towards 35W. You could call it the plywood district now. I hated to laugh at the ALREADY BEEN ROBBED graffiti but it was all I could do. As I got closer to my home, I don't know *why* I was surprised, but I still was surprised to see plywood all over Stadium Village as if a hurricane was coming. The Fresh Thyme was boarded up AND closed. Same with the Speedway. Then, I was surprised by what WASN'T boarded up. I'm still far enough off University that I feel relatively safe, but if somehow houses start becoming targets, who can say? I remain ready to drop everything and run to Cedar & Riverside but I think there will already be enough good people there and I won't be needed. If ANY of you feel unsafe, I have no problems sacrificing my nearly 15 year old car to bust you out. Tonight I'm on Messenger, Signal, WhatsApp, LINE, Signal and if you got some other app lemme know and I'll download THAT one too. Let's hope there isn't an invasion tonight but let's be ready if there is. Let's hope there isn't a war tonight but let's be prepared for one. Let's get through this storm. Let's keep our eyes on what's happening in front of us but let's also keep our eyes on what needs to change for a better future. Black lives matter. Keep wearing your masks and washing your hands. I love you all.
