Okay, this is a thought that occurred to me earlier today, and might sound kind of stupid when it's all said and done...

Degeneration X is arguably one of the more legendary stables in wrestling history, but have you thought about what has become of the former members?

X-pac - one of the best "small men" to step into the ring. Released from wwe last year and looks to be on the road to where-are-they-now's ville

Chyna - released from the company after deciding she was worth more than she is. Engaged to X-pac(those are gonna be some ugly kids!). If there were any doubts she and her fiance are through, the fact that they both appeared on Anna Nicole's holiday special should be confirmation enough!

Shawn Michaels - carreer "ended" by a serious back injury. Couldn't stay away from the business, and as mentioned in another thread, is currently on the road that put the Dynamite Kid in a wheel chair.

Road Dogg - fired for drug abuse.

Billy Gunn - While I don't know much about this, I hear he's suffering from an injury that may have ended his carreer. Most attempts to push him to the main event have resulted in fan apathy.

Ravishing Rick Rude - died way too early

HHH - the biggest success story to come out of this group. Considering the rate and severity of recent injuries, he's probably got about 3-5 years left before something ends his carreer. IMO, he's second only to Scott Steiner in degeneration of wrestling ability.

Granted, it's not a curse on the level of the Von Erich Curse, but it's kind of interesting that all of these guys have had(or will have) their WWE carreer ended by something other than a decision to retire.

You could probably draw the same conclusion about any 5-6 year old stable.

NWO
Hogan - OK, he's still around. (people have had him "on his last legs" for 10 yrs)
Hall - seems like he's outta there
Nash - rehabbing yet again - certainly on his last legs
Giant - Ok, he's around as the Show
Sting - basically out
Scott Norton - out? Japan?
Stink? Dunno

And who's still in the game from any version of the Horsemen? I think the last one was Benoit, Rick, Arn and somebody...

Well, Benoit is there. Rick is still around, sort of.

and the list goes one..........

Hate to point out the obvious, but I think the Hart Foundation ended up MUCH worse.

Dean Malenko retired did he not? And also Mongo is as good as never coming back again. So it is safe to say that Benoit is the only remaining "still" wrestling member.

You hit it right on the head, the Hart Foundation really is alot worse off than the members of DX today.

To recap:

Owen: Dead
Bulldog: Dead
Pillman: Dead
Bret: Kicked in the head, had to retire, had stroke, paralyzed, recovering.
Neidhart: Circling indies with no career

Very chilling, and much worse than DX has ever been.

ahem....

You're right. It does sound stupid. dX was simply a cheap rip-off of the nWo.

Simmons didn't get released. He was going to retire and become a road agent becuase his wife took ill. However, there were talks that he's going to return to the ring with Bradshaw when the big HOSS is ready.

Godfather was the one that was released. (Same time Saturn was)

Also, the Tony Norris arrest story was in fact NOT the same Tony Norris who portrayed Ahmed Johnson. Plus, he played Suge Knight in the VH1 Hammer movie!

Savio Vega is the commissioner heel for IWA in Puerto Rico.

Crush was just recently one half of the All Japan Tag Team Champions. He and Bryan Clark were stripped of the belts when Adams decided to pursue boxing.

That's WWF-hype. Andre lost a whole bunch of times in the US, Canada, France, Mexico, and Japan before then.
