Damn..... 4.7 second hour, 4.5 total.... let's hope with a good story Austin can keep this up!
RIP Curt Hennig: Yeah, they call me a redneck, but you know---that's a beautiful thing!
You don't get it boy, this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table. And I'm the surgeon. Something tells me to stop with the leg. I don't listen to it. But where in the world is there in the world A man so extroardinaire?
Now, comes the real important part for the WWF/E: Trying to maintain and even build upon this rating. Austin's not having his first time back again, so the novelty idea is now gone. Now, good matches and good angles are needed on a consistent basis because a segment of the audience has demonstrated a willingness to turn off the product if its deemed of poor quality.
Ole Anderson booking is a weapon of self inflicted mass destruction.
I think the big rise can be more attributed to Austin than The Rock. Simply because we were finally guaranteed an appearance by him and the steadily rising rating on RAW seems to indicate that, as we drew closer to the moment, more people tuned in to see what Austin would do.
Without the Rock storyline, Austin's return was still strong, because there was also the curiosity factor about what he would say after everything that has happened over the last 9 months. That said, Austin and Rock always have a chemsitry together and they're sure to draw big numbers over the next few weeks together.
This is great news, the 4.5 (and 4.7 second hour) is the highest total show and hour in 10 months. On May 6 they got a total of 4.6 with hours of 4.2 & 4.8. Strangly enough that was the first show they had to "Got the F out" and went WWE... How's that for quality info
Was mentioned Three times, 3X, 3X. In the "Great Wieners" thread!
The Rollins documentary part was brilliant and absolutely perfect for the main face of the company. So there is an obvious downside there! The Teddy Long stuff just didn't work. At all.
