To follow up on the Kurt Angle item posted in the Newsline, I have received more details on the situation.
Angle has been working with a hurt neck for some time, and it was aggravated while wrestling this past weekend in South Africa. There was not a specific incident or a new injury, but Angle simply reaggravated his already hurt neck while working on the shows. I have been told that he will see a doctor this week for tests, and that is what is being discussed backstage at Raw.
While there is concern over Angle's neck, the general consensus is that Angle will make it to Wrestlemania unless someone tells him he can't wrestle. Obviously, there is always concern when talking about neck injuries, but if I was a betting man, I would put my money on Angle making it to the big show.
Is todays style so demanding that these neck occurences are gonna be commonplace or is it that people back then didnt really know the severity of their problems?
If someone gets urinated upon do they get pissed off or pissed on?
Well, you gotta remember that Angle won his Gold Medals with a BROKEN FREAKIN' NECK! as he puts it, so it might have little if anything to do with the pro-stuff he's doing now. He could sleep on it wrong one night and do something to it.
Now if your name is Rhyno and you make your living running head-first into solid objects so drunk college guys can yell "GORE" a couple times, then I would agree that it might be a career hazard.

Wrestling exists in the eternal present. What is, has always been, and when it no longer is, it never was. It has no past and no future, and sometimes even today is in question. - Madame Manga

All those German Suplexes will do that to you. Edge has taken a lot lately in his SD6 matches, and Angle has taken a lot.
I'm surprised RVD hasn't had any neck problems, with all the neck bumps he takes (esp. the one on the most recent Heat).
Matthew: You would've loved it, David. A week in a foreign country, strange people, strange customs... Dave: Oh, I know what you mean. I've been to Canada.

Hey, thats one of the things I love about Rhyno. I see your point though. Maybes best for all concerned if he *sniffsob* gets himself a new finisher.
Really crappy news about Kurt though. hopefully it doesnt turn out to be too serious

Believe me, in the long term, he will have neck problems. He might be able to land on the back of his neck today, but no amount of stretching and flexibility in the world will allow you to land like that so many times and not have neck problems later in life.
As far as Kurt goes, I personally think the guy will still wrestle at 'Mania. He's a competator.
But, if it ends up that he can't, then I'd just like to say that it's a damn shame. The guy's deserved this WrestleMania main-event spot, and it would be so sad to see him come so close, and then have it taken away from him.
You thought watching Thunder was bad? Raw is like watching Thunder in re-runs.
"Kurt Angle, while wrestling in South Africa this past weekend, began experiencing numbness in his arm and other symptoms of neck problems.
He is going to get his neck examined, but at this point there is fear he may need the same surgery Edge is having and could also miss around a year of action.
He apparently wrestled his matches on the tour this weekend despite encouragement from fellow wrestlers while on tour to take some time off until his situation was checked out.
His match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania is in question right now."
Ooof. This is a bad week for injuries. I'll be the bearer of the big understatment and say it Couldn't come at a worse time. Man, do I hope Kurt is ok.
They gotta bring these back!!!: "talk to the hand because the man don't understand." - "The Crippler" Chris Benoit "...and that is the LAST WORD." - "The Big Nasty" Paul Wight and of course: "Don't hate the playa...HATE THE GAME~!" - WCW World Champion Booker T
As much as we like the move, is it time for the German Suplex to get the Piledriver treatment? Especially since its not even a finishing manuever, the risk might not be worth the reward. If Angle is out for a year, we might be looking back at the bad year of 2002 as a good year compared to the dredgery that could occur in 2003. Has anyone finished working on the time machine to bring Ric Flair of the 80's to save us yet?

Angle getting injured would be a disaster, to say the least. Not just for WrestleMania, but also for the next entire year of WWE's business.
This would also seem to mean that any hope Kurt had of wrestling in the 2004 Olympics might be shot, too.
Well Mr. Burns had done it. The power plant had won it. With Rogers Clemens clucking all the while. Mike Scioscia's tragic illness made us smile. While Wade Boggs lay unconscious on the barroom tile. We're talkin'... Softball. From Maine to San Diego. Talkin'... Softball. Mattingly and Canseco. Ken Griffey's grotesquely swollen jaw. Steve Sax and his run-in with the law. We're talkin' Homer... Ozzie and the Straw.
I'm merely wondering where the line is going to be drawn on what officially can and can not be used anymore. Pretty soon we'll just have hammerlocks and half nelsons, and as much as I love wrestling I don't believe I could take it going back in time that far.

Eh, Angle already decided not to go for the 2004 Olympics anyway. But your totally right about the rest of the year for 2003. Even if Angle works his match at WrestleMania (which I think he will), he can't avoid taking a good amount of time off soon. And with McMahon getting behind Albert and Bill DeMott as the next main-event stars, we could be in for a long year of Undertaker World Title reigns, with no Angle at the end of the tunnel. And more of RVD on HEAT!!! Hey, at least he can't be banished to The World during PPVs anymore. Rey can get comfy at Velocity too.
By the way, doesn't Kurt just have the worst luck with the timing of injuries. First, he breaks his neck right before the Olympic finals, and now he has more neck damage four weeks before his WrestleMania main-event match. Neck problems are bad in-of-themselves. But the timing of his couldn't get any worse.

It might not be a long year of Undertaker title reigns. He could drop the belt to a returning Nash at some point, setting up a series of matches that will be of the high quality established by Taker/Giant Gonzales.

damn it!!!!!!!! noooo... Kurt is my favorite wrestler of all-time, and this is terrible. About the wrestlemania match.. if kurt cant go, they gotta put the title on someone to fight brock (or have brock take the title from kurt and give someone else match vs. brock). There are several options: 1. the big show- This would make sense cause he is Paul Heyman's cliant, and he has a big history with brock. On the other hand, he is terrible in the ring, and they pretty much blew off his fued with brock at the rumble. not a good choice. 2. Hulk Hogan- Has a history with brock, and is a big main event draw. On the other hand, he has this huge match built up with vince, and it would be impossible to turn either him or brock heel without doing some really drastic and out of character for the storylines. 3. chris beniot- my (and probably everyone else's) favorite choice for this spot. You could ahve him take the title off of kurt based on their history, and then have him and heyman go CRAZY on angle, injury him, and say beniot is heyman's new client. This would set up a great match for wrestlemania and i think dont think beniot and brock have faced each other before (at least recently), so it would work very well. 4. goldberg- this is what i would put my money on. With kurt out, vince will panic, give goldberg what he wants, then the wrestlemania buy rate would be just as high, but the mstch quality woulf be low. they would have to bring in goldberg with heyman, the same as the beniot idea i talked about above.
other options are the undertaker and eddie, but i dont think those are realistic options.
Also, ANOTHER bad thing about this injury, if it wasnt bad enough, would be a very big problem for the push of Team Angle. i pray they keep them together and keep an injured kurt with them managing them so he can be on my TV every thursday, even if he doesnt wrestle.. this is terrrrible :(

Shoosh you. Don't you know the walls have ears? ;)

Angle got the "What?" chants during his list, but his sentences kept being punctuated by the entire crowd cheering for what he was saying, especially the "What?" list. That would seem to be the good "What"?
