I GOT THE LUNAR HORIZON WALLPAPER!!!!!!!!! Boo-yah!

I Wendell.

Oh, and all the snow melted. It took a while to get used to all the green, as opposed to white snow. Makes buried stuff & weeds harder to see now.

Damn, I really need to complete a furniture set. My girlfriend started a character and I've been stealing lots of her stuff. Hope she likes apples.

Hey Spiff, you figured out how to get Zelda yet?

Nope. I haven't found any games in a *long* time. However, I haven't tried the "leave tools on the island and hope the islander gets a rare game" trick. I think I've gotten all the ones from the website, plus some other misc. ones in trade or by normal routine.

No Punch-Out, no Zelda, no Mario.

I do have an ass-load of gyroids in my house. They've filled up my basement, and I've got ~14 on the 1st floor, and ~5 on the 2nd floor. I've been contemplating selling all furniture, and just keeping gyroids.

See, the gyroids are good for HRA points, I know, but they get kind of obnoxious in the house.

That's one of my big problems with the game - even with all the addititions, my house STILL fills up with crap. And a lot of it is rare crap, like models, that I have to put somewhere, because I'm not gonna be able to buy them later from the catalogue.

What I do with all the good crap I have is bring it to my island and put it in my hut. It will not add anything to HRA but its a extra large room to keep things in

Here'a a trick I read today: attach the stuff to letters, then save the letters at the Post Office. I haven't tried it yet, so I don't know if it works (I've saved a few letters w/out presents, though), but it would give you an extra "storage" place. Plus, I think you can save ~100 letters total.

Yeah, I figured that out on the third day I had the game You can't mail live stuff or fossils though.

Yeah, just to confirm, you can attach items to letters, and then save them at the Post Office. The catch is, you can't save letters that you've written, you can only save letters that you've received.

So, BAM!, extra storage.

...damn, now I'M gonna have to start doing that. I just got it today (nabbed a platinum GC yesterday on sale) and I can barely walk in my house. But would YOU dump a kiddie couch, lefty desk, or science table? The other people in town SERIOUSLY need to give me bells instead of just more furniture (and stationary... nowhere to put it!)

Not that I've tried this much myself, but what's wrong with burying stuff and then digging it back up when you need it? I bury stuff as a way of sending items to my gf since she would play maybe once a month, and her mailbox would be full, and I'm pretty sure once I've buried something, it doesn't disappear, but then again, it usually isn't buried for more than a few weeks.

I apologize for being a Buffy/Angel mark.

Hmmm, I don't know. I don't believe the townspeople dig stuff up, so you'd be safe there. I'm not sure if stuff would disappear after a while.

With the Post Office save, you can save up to 160 items.

I've actually just dropped stuff on the ground and it's stayed there for a long time. Like 100 bell moneybags, items that I don't want and shells. Of course, I guess some of the townspeople COULD pick them up, in theory.

Yeah, I buried things when I was running errands. Then I decided to start writing letters, send some shells (no garbage from fishing) to everyone else, and I finally got my fossils back. Unloaded them on the museum, and I'm using all my mail as storage. The crunch is now MUCH less, and the house is nearly paid off. Sadly, I think the money tree, as well as my pear and cherry trees are dead. They're very close to the river... like, one or two tiles away. That gonna kill them?

I bought the game today... I was a fan of Harvest Moon, and after having declared my complete and utter hate towards Metroid Prime (I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT!!! I'm still in Level 1.) I figured I best get a game I will not hate.

What a strange game this is.

I am not allowed to play anymore today because I was stung by bees. I mean, I CAN, but nobody wants to really talk to me, beyond freaking out at my mangled face.

Some guy wanted his ball back for his niece. When I found the ball, I accidently kicked it into the water. I could not get it out... Now he still wants it, and the ball has seemingly disappeared. I'm at a loss.

I have a bunch of fossils... The guy at the museum told me to mail them off to Some Other Place, because apparently the guy who runs my museum is not equipped to run one? I have no idea what to do with the fossils, since I kind of lack an address to send them to - so they're sitting in a drawer.

My town breeds oranges...

Some hippie dog plays music Saturday nights. I got a copy of his demo tape.

Can anyone give me any tips? I'm going to attempt to get my friend and my 13 year old brother into it - in hopes of expanding further... As it stands though, it's been fun.

No one is allowed to help you. And you have to write recaps of everything you do.

It may just be me, but I found 'The guy at the museum told me to mail them off to Some Other Place, because apparently the guy who runs my museum is not equipped to run one?' to be hilariously funny.

Though if you want help, just ask for something specific. My brain's too fried to think of general stuff right now.

If they studied their paper money for clues as to what their country was all about, they found, among a lot of other baroque trash, a picture of a truncated pyramid with a radiant eye on top of it, like this:

Not even the President of the United States knew what that was all about. It was as though the country were saying to its citizens, "In nonsense is strength."

You should have the address for the Far Away Museum (or whatever it is called). Once you try to give a fossil to Blathers (the owl dude), he'll tell you to mail them away. If you have some paper, choose to write a letter, and the Museum should be one of the possible recipients. At least, that's how I think it happens. It's been a long time since it happened.

Tips:
--pick up shells from the beach and sell them to Nook. Also, fish a lot, and sell them to Nook. Bugs can be sold, too.
--you said you're trying to get a few other people to play. Have them start a town on another card. That way, they'll hopefully have a different native fruit, which you can then plant in your town. Non-native fruit can be sold for 500 bells each.
--when you plant the fruit, put them somewhere that won't get a lot of traffic, that way they won't get trampled & die. I planted fruit behind the dump and near the post office.
--try to pay off your loans as soon as possible, as you can expand your house.
--when you get fossils back in the mail, you may want to consider selling them rather than donating them to the town museum. You can get from 1100 bells to 5500 bells depending on the fossil. Once you're on your feet financially, then you can donate the fossils.
--cruise the dump. Anything left there can be picked up, which you can then keep or sell to Nook. Also, check the police department. There's a lost & found, and you can grab anything left there, too. Sell or keep.
--since you're short on room in your house, use the Post Office storage hint mentioned in this thread.
--fish will only nibble a maximum of 5 times. If a fish nibbles 4 time, be ready to reel it in on the next nibble.

And fish. A lot. Fishing is the best way to get money. Red snappers and the zebra striped ones in the oceans. Get lots of those.

Don't time travel unless you like to pick weeds.

Don't play too much. I think this game is probably good for about 100 hours if you play it like a maniac - but then you are burnt out. If you space it out, I bet you could play it for months.

I lasted 1.5 months.

Patience, cfgb-san. Some more tips:

* When you get stung, people will only freak out once. Talk to them again and you're back to normal. The only way to fix the sting itself is to save or take a trip.

* You don't get the Museum addy until you talk to Blathers and get the Farway Museum's letter (which should be there the next time they deliver). Personally, I donate the first time I get something, then sell the rest.

* SHAKE TREES OFTEN. I've made about 2000 bells per day per town (have two towns) doing this. And Nook buys bees for 4500, which makes the more than occasional sting worth it.

* Save the demos K.K. makes. You only get them once a week, and you pop them in your stereo. If you're using the memory card that came with AC, you get two free NES games and a song.

* The balls come back after a couple of hours. I know because I did that a few times. Sometimes, they put balls where you can only kick them into the water...

* When you visit a town, someone in your town will move. Happens every time. Therefore, keep your visits to a minimum... or create a dummy character whose sole purpose for existing is to go back into your main town (to bring people back) and have a town for other stuff you might need (like non-native fruit, more fossils, etc.).
