Just arrived home from the Smackdown tapings in London, Ontario and thought I'd send in the results.
Dark Matches: -Sean O'Haire defeated Bobby something with the Razor's Edge. -Kanyon defeated a guy with "DUX" on the back of his tights. DUX was funny dancing after hitting a move, then Kanyon would imitate him.
Velocity: -Bill DeMott actually managed to powerbomb Billy Kidman and get the win. -Chavo Guerrero beat Johnny the Bull Stamboli by rollup with a handful of tights. They showed another video of Los Guerreros stealing some mamacitas from some guys. -Rey Mysterio defeated Shannon Moore in a good little match with the 619 followed by the West Coast Pop.
Smackdown: -Mr. McMahon comes and announces that neither the Rock or Hulk Hogan would be here tonight. Hogan apparently had a family emergency with his son Nick. -Torrie Wilson & Funaki defeated Nidia & Jaime Noble after interference from Dawn Marie backfired. After the match Stephanie came out and announced that Torrie would be in next month's issue of Playboy. -Eddie Guerrero beat Nunzio and after the match the new FBI (Nunzio, Stamboli & Palumbo) laid a beating on Los Guerreros until Rikishi made the save. -Matt Hardy & Shannon Moore lost to Chris Benoit & a returning Rhyno when Rhyno gored Hardy. The fans were really into Rhyno. -Undertaker called out A-Train. A-Train came out with Heyman and Big Show and they both went after Taker. Taker had the advantage for a bit and when overcome by the 2 of them. A-Train & Show were going to nail Undertaker with a chair until Nathan Jones ran in. Train & Show backed off as Jones did a spin kick and almost fell over when he landed. Train & Show had to come back to the ring as they filmed this part over again with Jones actually landing after the kick instead of stumbling over. -Rikishi w/Los Guerreros defeated Chuck Palumbo by DQ when the FBI interfered. Stamboli gave Rikishi and powerbomb that somehow injured Rikishi as he had to be helped out of the ring. -Earlier in the evening Stephanie made a match with Kurt Angle against Brian Kendrick. If Kendrick could last 5 minutes with Angle he would get a Smackdown contract. Angle toyed with Kendrick the whole match by not pinning him. As time was expiring Angle hit the Angle Slam and won the match with 2 seconds left in the time limit. Afterwards Angle raised Kendrick's hand and then beat him up eventually giving him an F5. -The crooked french referee from No Way Out came out and showed us the end of the Rock/Hogan match. Crowd chanted for Hogan during this. -The main event had the stipulation if Brock Lesnar defeated Team Angle (Benjamin & Haas) he would get a Steel Cage match next week with any member of Team Angle. Crowd was pretty quite during this match but came alive at the end as Brock hit an F5 on Benjamin I think and got the win. Brock went to F5 Heyman but Angle saved him. Brock then pointed down the ramp towards Angle and Heyman and said next week he'd take on Heyman in the cage. Team Angle left Heyman sitting in shock on the ramp. -That's probably where the show will end but after that Lesnar ran up the ramp and grabbed Heyman and brought him back to the ring and finally gave him the F5. Crowd popped big for that.
Many people were pissed that Hogan didn't show as the local newspaper had a front page article last week saying Hogan was going to appear. I wouldn't have been so upset if it wasn't for that article as I didn't expect to see Hogan when I bought the tickets.
Originally posted by fuelinjectedSeems alright, the Angle/Kendrick stuff sounds really good.
I don't like the way they've jobbed Team Angle really easily to Brock the last two weeks but I've never been a fan of Handicap Matches.
I think we can pencil in Team Angle vs Benoit/Rhyno at WrestleMania.
If we do have Team Angle vs Benoit/Rhyno, I hope Team Angle actually gets to beat someone before WM.
January 4th 1999 - The day WCW injected itself with 10 gallons of Liquid Anthrax...AKA...The day Hogan "Defeated" Nash to win the WCW title in front of 40,000.
I just hope Hogan's son is all right. I know the fans might be pissed, but I'd understand if something bad happened to his kid. The show sounds like the typical Smackdown show with nothing really happening expect Rhyno's return and Angel's match. I do agree Brock has been feed too many people, its time for Brock to do a serious job to someone. He has been Superman for too long now, its time for him to be a little more sympathatic.
Kendrick's a cute little guy, so it's good to see him do his thing with ANGLE. Sounds like an okay SmackDown, but to be fair, without a doubt, I'm salivating a little more for RAWK, I mean RAW. I'm not ashamed to say it.

Apparently Team Angle denied responsibility for attacking Edge which got me thinking.
In a years time when Edge eventually comes back, the chances are Team Angle will either be no more or have turned face, thus Edge will have nobody to get revenge on. Hogan will have gone, Taker will be on his last legs and Rock will be of making movies.
If this is planned well they could get Edge over huge by having him return seeking revenge on whoever it was that blindsided him (perhaps a swerving Brock or Rhyno). Edge comes in, feuds with said wrestler and goes over in a match at WM making him uber face
Course they might just forget all about the injury angle by then but I live in hope.

How far and fast Los Guerreros have plummetted. From being part of the Smackdown Six and Tag Title contenders/champions to being stuck with Rikish vs. the FBI. And now, not even the opportunity to host Mania from the World.
The only military skill provided by the French is demonstrating the methods of surrendering.

After reading the spoilers, I naturally assumed that within a couple of weeks or so, Rhyno will turn on Benoit and reveal himself to be the guy who took Edge out. Benoit v. Rhyno is my guess.

I'd like to think that there's way too much time btw now and WM, that this thing w/ the FBI is just filler until Los Guererros seek out their return match with Team Angle at WM.

Ahh, now that I tkink some more Rhyno would be pretty likely.
He's rumoured to be the next Mattitude follower.
Last night Matt said Edge would never have got injured if he had more Mattitude.
Last night Rhyno and Benoit fought Matt and Shannon (allowing for a turn next week).
And finally when Edge returns we can see a Gore/Spear battle.
Whatever happens though, I've missed Rhyno so much I'd watch him wrestle Lucy the Dog as long as it meant he was back on ma telly.

"After the match, Stephanie McMahon came out to a pretty big pop, sadly. She said that a diva was going to be in Playboy next month. She said it in a way that made people think it was her, which got a huge ovation. She actually pulled down one of the sleeves of her shirt to show a part of her bra. "
Looks like I'm not the only guy who thinks Steph is red smoking hot.
"What does Jones do as soon as he gets out there? He goes for a spinkick on A-Train that misses by about three feet and he stumbles onto all fours when he tries to land it. Everybody was just laughing at him. After the heels went back, a ref came back to tell Jones & Taker that they had to redo the spot. This time, Jones did it right I think. He stared at Taker and they posed to the crowd."
Maybe the guy just had first-appearance jitters? Still, how complicated could a spin kick be?

I noticed they don't show Sean O'Haire vignettes anymore. So wouldn't it be wise to have him wrestling or cut a promo on TV instead of dark matches, so people don't forget about his character.
Also, I read from another spoiler the horrible news that Limp Bizkit will be performing live at Wrestlemania.
I think you guys are close but not quite there in the Edge theory.
Yes, Rhyno would be a good candidate for took him.
Yes, Rhyno should turn on Benoit and join Matt/Shannon
However, you're all forgetting one thing. When Edge does come back it should be MATT that is behind it all. Think about it, they already have a LOOONG history in the tag team division. Edge is already a top guy they just haven't had anything to do with him because of all the other good wrestlers. And a year from now think about how high up the card Matt can be. So when Edge comes back, Edge vs. Matt could be a main event feud.

I still can't believe WWA made this guy their WORLD CHAMPION!! No wonder they aren't around anymore. As for Nathan, I think he may be a shining example of Reverse Wrestlecrap:

Good Gimmick stuck with a Horrible Worker
To be fair, WWA also made Steiner World Champ, and if not for his crybaby ways Luger would be World Champ right now instead of Sting. As for Nathan, well it took ten years, but we might have found the next Ludwig Borga.
Ole Anderson booking is a weapon of self inflicted mass destruction.
They are doing Kurt Angle vs. the Undertaker, only with the Rock involved as well. As for the rest...well, I'm sure they'll be given away on upcoming free shows. Sigh.
