That sound you hear is the sound of the Grizzlies finally moving up in the world. And after their impressive overtime win against us the other day, you can color me officially impressed.

As the only Grizzlies fan here (unless hell froze over ), I must say that I do enjoy this deal greatly. While I'm not exactly estatic at giving up Gooden, I think that it'll be good for us in the long run, as we needed another outside shooter. Giricek is going to be good one day - pure and total shooter. In all honesty, I was sadder to see him traded then Gooden. We've already got a decent interior. Gasol, Wright (who's a monster rebounder), Battier, heck, even Swift coming off the bench isn't too bad for now.
Although I do question West trading for Humphrey followed by his promptly going on the injured list.
Also, Flea, you may want to trade Hill for Larry Bird's retired number, but we had the rock that was Bryant Reeves' contract over our heads for the past 6 years or so. (Think "Rock of Victory" from the episode of the Simpsons where Homer joins the weird cult. Then double the size. That's probably half as big as the contract was.)
