hey u guys. man i having and old curt henning flash back. im trying to remeber when he had his perfect streak going on way back at the start of his mr perfect run in the then wwf. i remember him and heenan always taking about how no one could kick out of the perfect plex, i cant remember who was the first to do it, i want to say hogan cause i remember him and hogan was going at it for a while, do any of u guys remember? let me know
On the Hogan DVD, there's an SNME match from 1990 when he kicks out of the Perfect Plex. I don't remember the announcers saying that was the first time it happened, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was. It certainly beats Bret at SummerSlam 91.
Unless it happened at a house show no one knows about, the SNME with Hogan was the first time someone kicked out of it. Of course, it's hard to tell since every time after that they say "Nobody's EVER kicked out of the Perfect-Plex!!!" whenever it would happen.

Hennig only started using the P-Plex in the WWE. His first big opponent in a feud was Hogan and that's who Perfect first lost to. It was indeed on that SNME show. Does anyone remember the Hogan/Poffo match on SNME where Poffo won by countout? I believe that was the setup for the Perfect/Hogan match, because at the end, Perfect smashed Hogan's world title into pieces (and thereby gave us the WWF Hardcore belt).
I seem to remember some Survivor Series or another with Perfect in it....in the same match he beat Kerry Von Erich with it, then tried it on Warrior but he kicked out.....

Wow, I didn't know that. Man, Curt's contributions really are lasting.

Uh oh, you're going to raise the ire of Boston Idol with that comment. I expect a 3000 word essay on the lack of relevance of Curt Hennig, the ludicrousness of the hardcore title, and a detailed proof of why Outback Jack was the third most important man in the 1980's WWF behind only Hogan and Koko B. Ware. ;)
I agree that the overall problem of having none of this build up new guys aside from Punk is still glaring. BUT! All three angles/matches would be kind of elegantly built out of where things stand right now. 1)
