SD records a 3.2 rating this week. Now, unlike the previous week (or next week for that matter), there is no Michael Jackson freak show competing for ratings. While it is the highest rated show on UPN (as great an honor as being the best ice fisherman in Zaire), the rating increase that was expected with the Hogan/Catchphrase feud only being built on this program coupled with the build-up towards Mania is not occurring. Perhaps this is a sign that they've gone to the well once too often with people returning after long periods away (which is a bad sign if a sustained Austin return bump is expected on RAW). Now, I'm not saying they should change the format/direction of the show, because I am pleased with the majority of it. However, it is in one of the toughest time slots of the week, and perhaps should be moved ahead one night, thus providing weaker competition and a chance for ratings growth. Plus, it would give Vince the chance to destroy NWA/TNA, and for some reason when he is out to destroy something he views as competition, the product mysteriously improves as well.
Edit: A little confusion has arisen. I don't want to move it to Fri. night, Wed. night is the preferable night.

I bet UPN is THRILLED to be scoring these kinds of numbers against Survivor (which debuted last night, what was that about no real competition?) and Friends.
Thrilled to death they are.
(Though Viacom wishes that we were all watching Survivor). So, no I can't see it getting moved.
RAW Satire 2/10 Buffy 7.14 gets a 7.10 WAY better than last week, and I like the Principal Wood character alot.
Doing a 3.2 on Thursday on network TV is better then doing say a 5.0 on Friday. The advertising rates are MUCH MUCH higher on Thursday's because the movies open on Friday.
Besides, UPN wouldn't move it because they've got nothing else that would do those numbers on Thursday against Friends, Will & Grace, Survivor, and CSI.
The only thing I'd adjust about fuel's statement is that even though Thursday's rate card is the highest, that doesn't mean WWE will get you a great buy.
WSBK usually runs 50% promo theatre most of the time in their local avails. That could mean that no one wants to buy it, or their AE's suck.
I go for the former, only because it's in a major market. Of course, the real competition was from that repeat of High School Reunion, right?

Good call Fuelinjected, he hit it right on the head. Thursdays are such an important day especially if it's a movie going demo with movie ads that a 3.2 on that day is equal as 4s or 5s on Tuesday or Friday.
But I can't believe the very special Torrie vs. Dawn Valentines match didn't make a huge ratings impact... Lol Sorry I just never want to see those two girls in the same ring again, they are beyond bad

SmackDown! would probably do quite well on Wednesdays in the ratings, but I think the production might slip a little. Every week they have two days to get rid of the bad spots, bad camera angles, Michael Cole, etc. They'd still have a full day, but would it be enough?

I get NWA-TNA on my secondary PPV channel every Wednesday night at 8. I almost bought it once, but then decided that my 10 bucks would be better spent on a Booker T starter for Raw Deal.

Smackdown's ratings were way down because not only was there a new Friends (advertised as one of those 40 minute episodes, but really just an ordinary new episode and a rerun of a previous 40 minute special), the season premiere of "Survivor" was on against it as well.

That's really bad for TNA. They weren't using Bentley very much lately which is unfortunate, but after losing great performers such as Kazarian and Kash, they really should've done more to try and keep Bentley.
