I can either go to the RAW show tomorrow night at the arena 3 miles from my house, or to the Smackdown show in Detroit, which is about a 2 hour drive. I'm debating on going to both, but don't think I can afford it since I'd have to pay for both me and my fiancee to go. Here's the cards as posted on WWE.com:
RAW Saginaw Event:
All-Michigan team battles World Champ & Batista Rob Van Dam & Scott Steiner vs. Triple H & Batista
Booker T vs. Christian
Kane vs. Jamal w/ Rosey
World Tag Team Championship William Regal & Lance Storm vs. Dudley Boyz
Tommy Dreamer vs. Steven Richards
Women's Championship Victoria vs. Molly Holly
Jeff Hardy vs. Rico
Christopher Nowinski vs. Maven
Spike vs. Red Dog
Smackdown Detroit Event:
WWE Championship Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit
Handicap Match Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show & Paul Heyman
Tag Team Championship Team Angle vs. Los Guerreros
RAW vs. SmackDown! Kiss My Ass Match Rikishi & Edge vs. Christian & Chris Jericho
Sean O'Haire vs. John Cena
Rey Mysterio & Funaki vs. Matt Hardy & Shannon Moore
Billy Kidman vs. Jamie Noble w/ Nidia
Special referee: Dawn Marie Torrie Wilson vs. Nidia
Yes, the Smackdown show is pretty kickass. My main dilemma, though, is the location of each show. The RAW show is literally right down the street from me at the Saginaw Civic Arena. The Smackdown show is a 2 hour drive to Detroit. Ah hell, 2 hours is nothing for a Kurt Angle/Chris Benoit main event!
I'll be the only one to go the other way : go to the Raw live show. Clearly Smackdown is the better show on TV & has the far better technical wrestling. I can't characterize exactly why, but for some reason, I've always have more fun at the Raw live shows. It may be as simple as a whole extra level of energy from the guys knowing that they're being broadcast live. It may be that the technical wrestling is better to watch via the close-up camera angles on TV. (A Crippler Crossface is pretty boring to watch if you happen to be behind the "show side" of it.) You don't get the added amusement of the Tazz/Cole commentary. You said the Raw show is at the smaller (more intimate) venue? I always like that better, & probably better tickets still available. Dunno exactly what it is. But if I couldn't go to both, that's the way I'd go.
Main Event- Rob Van Dam & Scott Steiner vs. Triple H & Batista OR Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit = ADVANTAGE SMACKDOWN
Tag Team Titles- William Regal & Lance Storm vs. Dudley Boyz OR Team Angle vs. Los Guerreros = ADVANTAGE SD
Women - Victoria vs. Molly Holly OR Torrie Wilson vs. Nidia (Dawn special ref) = ADVANTAGE RAW, oh no still no Trish
If you love Christian you win either way- Booker T vs. Christian OR Rikishi & Edge vs. Christian & Chris Jericho = ADVANTAGE RAW... You gotta love WWE planning LoL,
Cool Hardy or creepy Hardy- Jeff Hardy vs. Rico OR Rey Mysterio & Funaki vs. Matt Hardy & Shannon Moore = ADVANTAGE SD
Kane vs. Jamal w/ Rosey OR Brock Lesner vs. Big Show & Paul Heyman = ADVANTAGE SD
Tommy Dreamer vs. Steven Richards OR Sean O'Haire vs. John Cena = ADVANTAGE SD, unless Victoria comes out with Richards then it might be a push
Christopher Nowinski vs. Maven OR Billy Kidman vs. Jamie Noble w/ Nidia = ADVANTAGE SD
Spike vs. Red Dog OR Nathan Jones vs. Bill DeMott = ADVANTAGE SD. Just to see Nathan
Plus there's a Kanyon vs. A-Tain vs. nothing on Raw = PUSH. A Train is so bad it would have been advantage Raw if it wasn't for Kanyon LoL
It looks like 7-2 with one push in Smackdown's advantage. I just hope Christian has short cut from Saginaw to Detroit or vise versa so he can get to both shows as advertised

But, I think he means this weekends house shows, not TV Tapings, so no cameras at either. If the RAW card even looked mediocre, I'd say save the 2 hour drive and go to it. But, the quality of the shows are so different the 2 hour drive might be worthwhile. And, how is Kanyon is a face?
Breaking News: In a preemptive military strike, the French Government has announced it has surrendered 2/3 of France, and will move back to Vichy.
Something just doesn't seem right with that card. Why all of a sudden an inter-promotional match?!? Why would they debut Nathan Jones without telling us about it this past Thursday?? Red Dog was with John Cena, why the hell is he on Raw now?!?! Why is Paul Heyman wrestling?!? Are they figuring that nobody in the arena figured out it was Kanyon attacking Taker? So he's face now? Seems like a lot happening on Smackdown and no mention of the Rock/Hogan segment that's supposed to go down. I dunno, seems inaccurate. Where did that card come from??

Oops -- my bad -- not paying quite enough attention to the question. Sorry. Yeah, go to Detroit.
Danger Will Robinson, Spoilers!! I logged onto RoyalRumble.com today, and under the "Matches" page, it sez: Undertaker Returns With a picture of the Undertaker above. So, I guess the surprise returnee won't be the Dead Man.
