The following post expresses the opinions of a raving Jerichoholic. He is biased, opinionated and bitter. You have been warned.

Two things:

1. Where was Kane? Did I miss him? Did he squash some poor jobber while I had my back turned?

2. Where was Michaels? Dude costs my main man the Rumble, then doesn't even have the guts to show up? I know No Way Out's in Montreal, but is he going to just sit at home for a month, then come back and remind Jericho that he hates his guts?

Sadly, I give dlo' another year before he is released.

Dlo' has pretty much hit the point of no return imho.

Down with the brown! Yeahhh man!

get it?

'Cause he's brown!

and his last name is brown!

and you gotta be down with the brown!

I used to be a huge fan of his(one of the only reasons I watched Shotgun Saturday Night!), but even I'm starting to to get sick of 'em.

-haha, I asked myself today "When was the last time a sucky Amnesia angle was done?" apperantly a wwe writer was hiding somewhere in my house and decided to put Stacy and "i have the acting prowess of a dead racoon!" Test into one(well, it seems like it's going to be one.)

-Austin is returning!...why am I not excited? I fear it's just going to be another re-hashed Austin vs The Evil Owner round 35,000.

anyways, I thought it was a okay show.

Flair: "Tonight, it's gonna be Austin, Bradshaw, taking on the NWO!

(Next Monday...)

Flair: I'm not trying to screw you Austin. Tonight, to show that I'm legit, I'll referre your match tonight when you and bradshaw take on the n..w..o!

(Next monday...)

Flair: You thought that was funny Austin? No one screws with the nature boy! tonight, it's gonna be you and bradshaw taking on X-pac and Big Show!

(Next Monday...)

Flair:That's it, you have pissed of the nature boy WHOOO for the very last time Austin!! Tonight I throwing your ass in a special tag match against the NWO. And your partner is gonna be.........Bradshaw!

I, as well, was waiting eagerly for the “4” sign, even once. Even if the new Horsemen were to have Triple H in it, I'd still dig it. Although I think if they were going to do the Horsemen, they should've done it while Benoit and Guerrero were still on RAW and allied with Flair. A Flair/Benoit/Guerrero/one more guy Horseman team would've ruled. As it is, this potential Horseman quartet is... interesting, anyway. But even as over as Randy Orton has suddenly become, he needs to convince people that he can actually wrestle. I remember him being green as hell in the ring before he got injured.

While we're talking about using WCW ideas, I must say that Chief Morley (acting on behalf of Eric Bischoff) acted very much the way Bischoff did during the nWo days. At nWo Souled Out 1997, The Steiner Brothers defeated The Outsiders to become the new WCW Tag Team Champions. Unlike the Dudleys/Regal-Storm match, the Steiners/Outsiders match actually ended relatively cleanly. The only thing was, nWo referee Nick Patrick was knocked out during the match, and Randy Anderson came out of the crowd to count the pinfall. The following night on Nitro, Bischoff fired Anderson (allegedly for accepting a free ticket to Souled Out, although everyone knew better) and stripped The Steiner Brothers of the belts.

So it was kind of interesting, for me, to see Nick Patrick in the opposite position this time (although he didn't get fired). Especially since Patrick also played the crooked referee role during the WCW inVasion back in '01. It kind of destroys the fabric of the entire space-time continuum when Nick Patrick is trying to do his job well. LOL...

-HHH/Flair/Steiner segment- Just like there was so many unanswered questions in Universal Soldier that they gave us the much needed Universal Soldier 2. There is such so much more HHH/Steiner can give us that we NEED a sequel to this match... But before that and after the success of last night we need to see Steiner in there with an "inexperienced" bag of muscles. Oh yes you damn right I'm sticking around for this train wreck.

-RVD vs. Jeff Hardy- Jeff seems to be with us today, thank you for joining us. He ran the rail without falling, he actually looked and stepped on the ropes when he did the running up the turnbuckle move. Good boi Jeff. The first jaw breaker was odd but hey now I'm just being picky. Checking back it only took 4 minutes? It seemed longer, Jeff and RVD seem like something that could go atleast 6 or 7 but how Jeff is these days it's probabley a smart idea keeping it under 4.

-Regal/Storm vs. Dudleyz- I like Morley speak, his arms flailing away everywhere. lol. It's also funny that he didn't want it to be so biased that he just takes the title away from the Dudleys but tried to be reasonable with Nick Patrick and then the Dudleyz. But then finally found the right situation to get the titles off them... It does suck if you were one of those people that ordered the PPV because of the Dudleyz and popped for them winning just for them to lose it in this fashion 24 hours later.

-Hurricane Trish vs. Victoria/Stevie-Don't get this guy can't touch girl thing for this match. Just a few weeks ago Trish was taking all the bumps when she teamed up with Test. Victoria was having all kinds of problems with her pants, I guess one persons problem is another persons pleasantry. Victoria seems a little off these past 2 weeks, she looks like she's struggling at times in there, I hope she's not injured. Today when she wanted to lift Trish on her shoulders and she just went down, well good cover by Trish by just going for the pin. That was one of the best shinning wizards ever. He jumped off Trish's back and lifted up and hit Stevie. Very cool.

BTW Santa S. There was love tonite, your eye is still not properly trained yet, more practice and you'll spot it everytime. They are making it more difficult with Trish's new entrance with a spotlight on her but darkens everything else including the background with Lilian and this week they took precious seconds off there ring together time for Raw is brought to you by... promo crap.

-Bischoff BIG news- DeadCowWalking down to the ring. DeadCowMan watched RAW X and had a vision (Me Too, look at my avatar, what a vision it was). DeadCowWearing is talking about something else he's talking about STONECOLD STONECOLD STONECOLD (the crowd pops) for the ppv in Montreal (the crowd boos. lol)... I'm happy Austin is coming back (but how the WWE is these days who knows it might not even be official yet). It would be kind of oddly funny (not ha ha funny more like weird funny) if Austin get pass the border because of what happened. Knowing the WWE I'm sure the planned well ahead to make sure this won't be a problem *insert rolling eyes, yeah right icon*

-BookDust vs. 3 MInute Warning- Or as JR calls them 3 Count. Where did that come from. This match was actually really good. The went really long almost 10 minutes, and 3MW looked like the kept up very well. Booker T is just explosive some times I thought he injured himself when he tried to kick Rico and only got ropes. Well I enjoyed this match very very much. Might have been match of the night definitely most surprising match of the night.

-Test vs. Jericho- Match was average, that poor time keeper what a beating he keeps taking when Jericho wants that chair, right into the steps. Lilian had this look of concern either for herself or the poor sap of a time keeper... Good job with the timing and angle of Stacy's hit. I knew it didn't really hit her but it looked good and realistic. Nice job by Stacy and Jericho on the timing and Stacy acting knocked out and Jericho's reaction was interesting. He looked like it was an accident and reacted to it as such and he felt bad for her. But still a little heelish going around worrying about himself and screaming "She got in the way, it's not my fault". I wonder where there going with this. I also wonder if Test is a long lost Wilson, he seems to have their acting genes. His acting was brutal even in wrestling standards.

D'lo vs. Dreamer- I was hoping that they ran long and this match wouldn't make it but no such luck. Hey it's Teddy Long and he's looking sharp. Back to reality of a sucky angle. His speech gets a pop but the match was silent even with use of cool kendo sticks.

Steiner vs. Batista- Let the train wreck begin. Great set up just like the RR with a sucky matchup before it. I give them an over/under of 3 minutes before the crowd turns again. The both no sell running clothesline the crowd starts murmuring ha it's only the first minute. Steiner hits his first belly to belly the crowd starts experiencing deja-vu 90 seconds in BUT Randy Orton ran in and the match is over in 90 seconds before it had a chance to get bad. Come on just another 90 seconds please! Heel beatdown on Steiner setting up Steiner/H 2, I'm sure it will be as successful as Universal Soldier 2.

-other stuff- I liked the Christian/Nowinski and then Bischoff interaction backstage a lot. Eric asking to Nowinski "What happened to your face" Christian bitching about trusting that "Piece of crap Edge" and Nowinski saying he knows what the secret is and Christian asking what and just smirking obnoxiously and walking away... Also liked Orton backstage with Steiner, well mostly for Orton "My shoulder is 95% heeled I can't have another set back now" while getting choked out by Steiner. You know what would rule for Orton a little energy bar over with his name on it on screen just like the video games or what's under our names here in wienerville. With that we know exactly what percentage he's at all times.

Line of the night: Orton "Come on my shoulders at 95% I can't have a set back now" while getting choked out.

But any unit with Triple HGH, Batista, and 50-plus-year-old Ric Flair has "BAD IDEA" written all over it. I'm skeptical.

Steiners still there because of the time and money that the WWE invested in him pure and simple. They dont give a guy almost 2 months of build up before his 'signing' followed by a month long build up to a championship only to dump him after one ppv. The money they're paying that guy means they'll have to find SOMETHING to do with his useless ass to justify their investment. Hopefully they'll just use him to help put over a few midcarders (Randy Orton?) rather than let him anywhere near a main event again but like I say, you've got to understand their reluctance do bury one of the highest paid guys in the company.

And yikes where'd all the negative vibes for the 'Horsemen' come from? Taking them one by one, HHH has been steadily improving again for the past couple of months (in ring and out). Sure the Rumble match was awful but he did as much as anyone short of Angle or Benoit could have done to save it IMO.

Batista's a genuine monster and while he's still pretty green in the ring I can see him being pretty effetive in the enforcer role until he learns and develops as a wrestler.

Randy Orton entertains the hell out of me and really deserves the exposure he'll get from this.

Finally Flair's still one of the best guys in the fed when it comes to cutting a promo and should be great in the manager role regardless of his age.

This still leaves room for one more guy (probably someone who'll tag with Orton) which is probably when we'll see them pull the 4 sign y'all were looking for.

Random Raw Thoughts:

Looks like Jeff Hardy's turning heel.

I liked the Dudleys-Regal/Storm segment. I wish Regal/Storm would get more mic time though.

It'll be good to see Austin back. I don't think he'll be on Smackdown though.

Good to see Teddy Long back, too bad the angle sucks.

I liked Randy Orton's update, even if Steiner was is the same segment.

I'm a little disappointed that we're headed to a Test-Jericho feud.

I'll reserve judgement on the new 4 horsemen for later.

Overall, a so-so Raw.

Well, I enjoyed Raw. Maybe I'm just an idiot for not seeing how horrible this show is, I don't know.

RVD vs. Hardy was really good. BookerDust vs. Three-Minute Warning was decent too, maybe just a bit longer than it should have been.

The immediate reactions to the Stacy injury angle seem to be split between "Yikes, I hope she's gonna be all right" and "I can't believe people were STUPID enough to think that was REAL!" Me? I realized it was a work, but it was a really well-executed one. Nice job on everyone's part.

Why people are surprised at WWE for doing something offensive when they've shown no qualms about doing that kind of stuff in the past is beyond me. I'll simply say "bad timing" and move on. Didn't even know Teddy Long was still on the payroll...

I like the new heel stable. I wasn't watching wrestling during the whole Horsemen glory days era, so...

Tag title switch was cheap, but hopefully they'll blow this off with a table match at Mania. I THOUGHT it was too soon to end that feud.

Victoria's had the upper hand over Trish in recent tag matches, so it only makes sense for Trish to get a fall on the Women's Champion to keep the feud from getting too one-sided.

But hey, the business is OBVIOUSLY dying, so tell me again why I should bother supporting it? Oh wait, I still enjoy it, my bad.

I think everyone's lowered their expectations so much, that at this point Raw couldn't possibly suck more. This show was bad, but better than most of the bad shows over the past 4 months. Two so-so matches (Jeff vs. RVD/Intergender Tag), an Austin announcement, and a bunch of horseshit in between.

Steiner's in there because he's the only moderately recogonized face on the roster for HHH to feud with, plain and simple. Everyone else has been castrated by Trips, so Steiner more or less keeps his job by default.

Exactly what was the point of switching the titles at Royal Rumble last night, only to do a 20 second hot-shot back onto Lance and Regal tonight? It just cheapens it when someone actually wins the belts at some point in the future, and makes PPV title matches look more unimportant. Actually, lets go back a few weeks and find out what was the point of even taking them off Black Gold in the first place, since they're the only OVER tag team? Why should anyone give a shit about Lance/Regal? I mean, seriously, I don't get it. Someone explain to me why I should boo these guys. Neither one of them has done anything notable in the past year.

Isn't this like the 30th intergender tag between Trish and Victoria? Get the feeling they have no ideal what to do with the women's division?

Shock TV is dead. Except for racism. I can't wait for Kevin Kocksucker Kelley (KKK) to explain this one in his WWE.con column.

As for the four horsemen, we've obviously all forgotten the nWo fiasco, and the last failed DX reunion in 99. It might as well be the nWo, DX, or even the Dangerous Alliance because it's just another nostalgic name Vince has pulled out of his hat for a cheap boost. Nobody except WCW fans (who aren't even watching WWF TV) and the IWC know who the Four Horsemen are. The nWo was a little different because it had some main-stream success. The reason it won't work is the reason the nWo reunion never worked; nobody in the WWE watched how the NWA or WCW ran the angles, and thus have no ideal how to book their nostalgia trips. This is symptomatic of the WWE's bigger problem; relying on old names and formulas to pull in todays audience. Sure, Austin and Rock can comeback, but if they just do the same thing they've always done, and fight the same old people (Undertaker, HHH) then really there's no point to it.

Triple H can call himself "The Tripster", start wearing red and yellow, do crotch chops, raise his eyebrow, declare himself the people's champ, flip people off, drink beer, dye his hair white, start saying WOOOOOO, surround himself in the Horsemen, and steal as many past gimmicks and nostalgia as he wants to; he still sucks and will continue to suck until he loses about 50lbs and takes the time off to heal his legs.

I agree w/ Venom. Just a brutal show, but better than Necro.

A couple points:

1) A Jeff heel turn? Was anybody asking for this? And what exactly has Jeff done to warrant any kind of push? Dwindling pops, sloppy & unmotivated performances, horrible appearance. Yeah, let's give him a push. And let's use RVD, one of the most over guys on Raw, to do it. Instead of Jeff, push RVD or Booker or Goldust or Helms or Stevie - you know, guys who have worked hard and been entertaining.

2) Congrats Mongo & Paul Roma - you may soon be forgotten as members of the worst IV Horsemen ever.

3) With Stacy "injured", let's see how over Test *really* is. My guess is "not very".

Her music is actually a remix of some Top 40 song. I've actually heard it a couple of times on Green Bay radio...and I swear I can feel myself going just a little insane myself when it plays. Well, there is the "WWE Psych Ward" shirt he was wearing for a while...

When Dreamer was wearing generic WWE shirts, I had no problem with that. Believe me, I'm not rooting for him to start coming out shirtless. It just struck me as odd that he came out wearing a shirt that (a) promoted another wrestler, (b) who has never so much as spoken to Dreamer on-camera. Let him borrow some of Mikey Whipwreck's artsy T-shirt collection or something...

EDIT since I can't post two-in-a-row: Here's one more for the group. The Morley-Patrick confrontation circled around the notion that The Referee's Decision Is Final, and that Morley couldn't reverse it and hand the titles back.

Um, isn't doing that EXACTLY how Morley debuted, reversing not one but _two_ referee's decisions in the same match?

Some Raw thoughts:

Talk of bringing back Austin gives the show thumbs up for me. Replaying Raw X on Saturday, maybe they dub the crowd noise this time.

RVD/Jeff Hardy. Still had the match of the night. RVD is so over, they should really push him and not have him curtain jerking.

Booker T is wasted on MLK day.

The Dudley finish was the same one I predicted for the PPV.

Kane is nowhere to be seen after his finishing 3rd in the Rumble. (1st among Raw guys)

Anybody know if Trips eye injury was legit? I know Chris Harvard got his from the Edge Dropkick, but Trips looked worse.

Bischoff announces Austin's return and the crowd pops... a little. About as much as they did when Test came out in the next segment. Boy oh boy, bringing the wifebeater back's gonna set the world on fire! Look how bringing back stale wrestlers has worked for them the last few times! Kevin Nash! Scott Steiner! Ric Flair! Amen. I'm glad I'm not the only one hopeing that Steiner would get Buff Bagwelled after Sunday night. The crowd certainly turned on the match as hard as they did w/ Buff and Booker. Steiner was so bad that HHH looked like a frigging gymnast by comparison.

Stupid segment with the Duds and Regal/Storm. Way to cheat us out of our PPV dollar by having finishes that get reversed the next night. If they think Chief Morley is a good heel, then they're wrong.

Oooohh.. an RVD/Jeff Hardy feud? Wait, I thought RVD WASN'T gonna get shunted down the midcard after his "feud" with HHH, right?

Booker is likewise being wasted. The crowd was more into his match than any other that night. THESE ARE THE GUYS THEY NEED TO PUSH, not guys who are 6'5" and came up through OVW. Hell, I'd rather see Goldust in the main event than Pee Wee Herman w/ Dragon Tatoo.

Teddy Long was a riot. The racism angle sucks, but not if they make him into the Rev. Slick 20003. Has Tommy Dreamer ever gotten a pinfall on RAW?

So, Bischoff has about three weeks left, at which point Shane takes over? So we get a war between Shane and Steph? Or do Shane and Steph team up to take on Vince?

Their thinking is wrongheaded here. They're looking to the past for answers, instead of the future. Austin's supposed to turn RAW upside down? Why? The guy's 39 years old, he wrestles with two kneebraces, and all of his feuds are pretty much the same. I like the Orton push and at least they're trying a few new guys, but Orton and Bautista are so fresh that no one knows what to think of them. The RNN segments have been nice, but let's see if that translates into some legitimate heel heat.

The problem is, all of the old-timers are still clinging to their spots (HHH, Undertaker, HBK, soon Austin, and Nash, when his lazy ass returns) and NONE of the current mid-carders are getting their turn. The guys who we've been waiting on for a push, and who we've basically been promised, will be given pushes. Guys like Jericho, Booker, RVD, Benoit, Kane etc. The WWE's company line is basically, "We know these guys are over, and we promise that we'll push them. Just keep watching!) Kurt Angle is an exception, but even he is made to look like a jobber when he tangles with the holy quartet of HHH, Rock, Austin and Taker. But NOTHING CHANGES with this fucking company. They didn't let anyone new into the main event three years ago and now they wonder why they don't have any big stars left.

What are they thinking?? Weren't end-of-show beatdowns the standard WCW Nitro endings as they were going out of business? You've got heels with backstage power, always getting the best of the faces and NEVER getting their comeuppance. Do they not think the fans are gonna turn on this?

I just don't get it the Snitski promos got a bigger reaction from King and Jr the the Save_Us ones. It is like the NWO promos. how can we be worried when the on air talent acts like they can care less.
