I agree on the crowd thing. If you ask me, I'm not buying the 'crowd was hot' saying I keep hearing. Every second of Raw I saw was people sitting on their hands. Except for Flair's figure four.
Vince is more than likely showing up to shill the RAW anniversary show. Hopefully, nothing more comes of it.
From the infamous Wrestleline SS interview:
DTD: If you were to make changes in WCW, if you were in charge and not Ric Flair, what would they be?
SS: I'd get rid of all the old guys, and push the talent that has waited to get the push. The things they are doing, it's back in the 1980s. It's just bad, man. Flair doesn't even deserve to be on the show. You've got to get rid of all the old guys. Like what Vince did, they started pushing guys. Nobody knew who The Rock was 2 years ago. He made The Rock. Now The Rock just did Saturday Night Live. You've got to start with the young talent, talent people can relate to. Who are we trying to relate to if we've got a 50 year old man out there? Are we trying to relate, so a 50 year people and above will go out and buy a f*cking little toy? That ain't gonna happen. It's a f*cking joke.
I can't wait to see Vince strut down the ramp in his oversized sport coat and big collar. Hearing "No Chance in Hell" will be pretty sweet, too. Playing SD: SYM has reminded me how much I missed that song. It's a million times better than "I'm Back" or whatever Eric's theme is called.
Professional wrestling isn't a hobby. It's a lifestyle.
A few years ago live on Nitro, Eric challenged Vince to a fight at some WCW PPV. The old footage could come into play at some point building to a nice blow-off sometime down the line.
I have a feeling that Vince's return means the beginning of the end of the "brand extension." The phone call was preceeded by Bischoff bragging about how 2003 will show that Eric is in charge of RAW. I think we will find out more after the Smackdown tapings tonight or when Smackdown airs because I have a feeling Stephanie will also receive a phone call from Vince.

Yes, let's not forget that kiss between Eric/Steph a few months back. Don't think that Vince will let that go without a comment.
The WWE could put on 2 hours of Kevin Kelly sitting on the toilet reading a phone book, and I'd still watch next week.
Any guesses as to what Vince's new catchphrase (to replace "ruthless aggression") will be? It's about time for our scheduled Catchphrase Paradigm Shift.

I think it's just the opposite. I think this is the beginning of the REAL brand extension, with Bischoff autonamously running Raw (storyline-wise) and the McMahon's running SD.

Originally posted by tomvejadaNext week, Vince McMahon returns to RAW. The crowd was apathetic to that announcement.
Nay-nay-nay!!! The crowd didn't get that announcement. Somebody backstage forgot to hit the play button, & we didn't see it!! While y'all were getting the exposition for next week, we were wondering why RVD & Kane were kinda hanging out in the ring after the match, but not really doing anything. Imagine my suprise when I got home & watched my tape!
There were a couple of other things that we either couldn't hear, didn't get, or were generally confusing. F'rinstance: We could see the whole Regal/Storm talking to JR/Lawler, but we had no audio. We clearly were supposed to be able to hear it, 'cause it actually went on through most of the commercial slot preceeding the part that you saw. But we had no audio. So in the arena, we had dead Dudley bodies lying about the ring, & something we couldn't hear going on, then Regal/Storm doing more beatdown on the barely-recovered Dudleys. We were somewhat confused.

I was wondering why they didn't follow up on that... oh yeah, RAW writers. Forgive me for my momentary lapse of reason.

"Woozle Wuzzle".
Way to creative. Since this new catchphrase would come from the minds (insert joke here) of the RAW writers, nothing could quite replace Ruthless Agression like Agressive Ruthlessness.
Please help control the McMahon population. Have your Triple H's spade or neutered.

I was wondering why I thought I heard an "R-V-D!" from the crowd just as Bischoff was answering his cell. I was like, "Why would he do that thumbs thing while that backstage stuff was going on?" I then started to wonder if there was some kind of technical glitch that I often read about when reading a report from somebody who attended a live event.
So far, I've been lucky that way. I've been to two PPV's, and was able to see and hear all the out of the ring stuff. On the other hand, that includes Saliva's performance at Survivor Series, so maybe I wasn't so lucky.
(edited by Dagent913 on 7.1.03 1643) What if your grandfather was a kazoo?
Vince was once one of my favourite TV characters but right before Bischoff came he totally overexposed and was involved in everything from ruthless aggression motivational speaker, evil owner, ladies man. He needed to get off TV and fast, and you know what, I haven't missed him at all, and I was someone who's ears always perked up when "No chance in Hell" hits.

A severe case of IWC Memory Reconfiguration.
The way it played, the kiss should have been followed up on Smackdown...not Raw.

Yeah, it probably is just a coincidence at this point. I highly doubt WWE would buy a "newecw.com" domain rather than just setting up a ecw.wwe.com or something like that. I have to say, that fella' who had everyone thinking WWE bought newecw.
