Hell, this student doesn't appear to be as stupid as the one's I taught in college for a year in Miami. Probably paid good money for the essay as well. Ah, do I miss the days when I'd have students expelled for plagarism.
I want you to know, I agree with everything I've just said.
"The wrestlers do not appear to be fighting for anything but fun because there is no money on the match and if they are fighting for pride, they fight very dirty and there is absolutely no way that any human being could possible have pride in themselves after doing something like that to another individual."
"The wrestlers do not appear to be fighting for anything but fun because there is no money for winning the match, and if they are fighting for pride, they fight very dirty; there is absolutely no way that any human being could possibly have pride in themselves after doing something like that to another individual."
There, I used my amazing powers of long sentence-writing to fix it.
"One recent story that came on in Atlanta showed a home video of some teenagers attempting a stunt that they saw on Music Television (MTV) where a professional stuntman jumped in the air and another professional stuntman drove a car underneath the first. The teenagers who attempted to reproduce this stunt were not so lucky and the “jumper” ended up in the morgue after the whole thing was over. I cannot say whether or not professional wrestling has this effect on its audience however, I must conclude that there is more than a remote possibility."
if he can't prove that it has an effect on the audience, what purpose does this example have, as related to wrestling? maybe it relates to Jackass, but that's not the topic of this essay.
"Simply put, some portion of any given audience will attempt to reproduce what they see on television in real life and could cause serious injury or death to anyone in the vicinity."
uhmm....doesn't this hold true for anything that's on TV? why is wrestling so much worse than any other TV show?
"...in ancient Rome, there were fights to the death and they were for the entertainment of the general public but there was a fundamental difference. The difference between ancient Rome and today’s professional wrestling is that in Rome, people condemned to death were the fighters and everything was real, nothing was fake........Professional wrestling goes against the morals, which this great country was founded upon by allowing people to mutilate each other and there is no excuse for this type of action."
isn't this sort of a contradiction?
"Professional wrestling is an epidemic that we as a society should fear and attempt to abolish."
ass.
(edited by gargs on 27.12.02 0936) "I used to date a homeless girl. That was pretty cool. You could drop her off ANYwhere. 'Date's over...get out.'"
Christmas spirit? I'll tell ya bout Christmas spirit!
I lose the spirit when I read crap like that there young'un posted on that there website. Did you check out his mugshots too? As Red Forman says "He's a dumbass."
He's Rolie Polie Olie - and in his world of curves and curls, he's the swellest kid around.
After all, it couldn't have done any harm, could it?
(I would attempt to give an example of this, but I gagged after reading the first paragraph. Man, this is bad....)
The sad thing is, I probably wouldn't have done a double-take if I had it was one of my classmates' essays from this past semester. Had problems finishing most of those, too.
411wrestling adds stupid, uninformed comments to its news items all the time (though in all fairness, I think they're usually just lifting 1wrestling's stupid, uninformed comments), but for some reason, this one really got to me:
