Well, to contrast the other thread....how about some stories of some SWEET/SWANK birthdays?
Mine would have to be my 18th. To make a long story short....my dad beat me as a kid (amoung other things) and we (my mom and I) took him to court. He got aquitted because amoung other reasons, he lied on the witness stand and his wife at the time lied as well. Fast forward, and they are since sperated, with him being charged for raping her. Funny thing....the ONLY thing that could've saved him was using stuff from the previous trial....which he couldn't do, because in the 'eyes of the law', all that stuff 'never happened' (the Canadian justice system is cracked out).
I get home from school on my 18th birthday, and my mom tells me that my father's been found guilty and had a nice one-way trip to the Pen in Kingston and he was put away for longer than what he would've for the trial years before.
My best birthday present ever? Vindication. And of course the irony of the whole thing.
How about the rest of y'all?

I got one that wasn't mind blowingly awesome, but fun. By B-day was on Thanskgiving this year, 19th, and it was just a good break. The week before midterms ended, and it felt so good to lay around the house watching NFL with no worries, also my parents and I ate a good Thanksgiving meal, plus I got to see all my old friends and we partied that night and had tons of fun. It made me realize that college is fun, but home will always be there too. It was just a comforting Birthday. It really seemed like my first "Adult" birthday.
You don't get it boy, this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table. And I'm the surgeon. Something tells me to stop with the leg. I don't listen to it.
* 13th: I got picked on a lot. Stabbed with pencils on two separate occasions, gum in my hair, etc. It all stopped once I hit 13. I finally ended up getting some respect and making friends.
* 21st: Went to see the "Spider-Man" premiere with my best friend (who I hadn't met in person before). Go off to Asylum, and it's old school night. We get hammered, try to find a hotel room, and end up snuggling in Penn and Grand Central Stations.
Got married the day before my 21st B-Day, then the day of, went to the Casino, turned $100 in birthday money into $1300(most of the other gifts were combined with wedding gifts, leaving NO cash for me).
Do I think the WWE should listen to the opinions of the Internet? Absolutely. Do I think WWE should be dictated by the opinions of the Internet? No. Comments and articles that are written on the 'net are the opinions of fans, the fans that drive our product and deserve to be heard. If there is a large group of people who have the same opinions on a certain issue, maybe that issue needs to be addressed or revisited. I think we miss the boat if we don't. One thing about the Internet wrestling community--whether they think the shows are good or bad - they are probably our most dedicated fans, because they watch the shows every week. They love professional wrestling, and you can't really question that. -Matt Hardy, speaking very true words.
Yesterday, I turned 31 and two different people gave me copies of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. It's comforting to know that I'm still getting video games as gifts in my 30's.
Professional wrestling isn't a hobby. It's a lifestyle.
Well the hours arent exactly social but given that we both post on wrestling boards this is not something that would really worry either of us greatly.:)
